No conventional recall has been declared in the UK as yet, but owners have been suggested to reach BMW Customer Services for further information.

North America’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration looked into charges that the transmittal software sets off a multi-stage change under hard braking, thus making the car to stall. US M3 owners have been asked to take their cars to dealerships for a free software upgrade.

BMW is scheduled to show off this beauty at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a couple of weeks. “The Vision Efficient Dynamics is a plug-in hybrid sports car with a new dynamic exterior and interior design language. But underneath the eye catching design is a smaller and more efficient engine BMW is exploring for possible future use.” This amazing vehicle is the wave of the future, more dynamic vehicles made with the concept of environmental preservation constantly on the mind of engineers. We visited the Kyushu Plant for Toyota today - very interesting - and curious. Big plant - and most of us had never seen a car manufacturing plant before. They make two cars in this plant - the Harrier (sold in America as the Lexus RX330 - and the Kruger (sold in America as the Toyota Highlander). Thirty thousand parts go into making a car, it takes 19 hours - they make about 1100 cars a day - and about 80% are exported, with most of these going to the States. The plant is new - and they will double the size in the next year for an interesting reason, we learned. There are 3500 employees at this plant - and we see the assembly part of the operation. Amazing - clean - amazingly clean - and functioning like clockwork - as you would expect in Japan. We watched from the catwalk above as the painted bodies came into the plant - and the cars move through many assembly stations on a conveyor belt receiving all the additions that make up a car. We were fascinated for some time by the robot that puts the seats into the car, and the tire robot. We have new appreciation for how much goes into car production.

This year, at Geneva Auto Show, Alfa Romeo finally showed the production version of the 8C Spider. The new Alfa Romeo car is truly beautiful, powerful and rock solid, where its gracious lines and dimensions gel perfectly with typical Alfa Romeo engineering and drive-ability. Only a limited run of 500 will be made of these V8 machines – most of which are going to important markets like the USA, Italy, Germany and Japan – but could increase if there’s sufficient demand.

The distinctive feature of the 8C Spider is its fold-away dual layer weatherproof roof that is controlled from a dashboard-mounted button inside the car’s carbon fibre cockpit and can be personalized in different colors. The 8C Spider is aero-dynamically similar to the coupe with all the surfaces and profiles of the uprights and windows, together with the form and positioning of the rear-view mirrors, have been optimised using computer models and tests in wind tunnels and real-life environments.

At its heart is the respected Fiat Group family 4.7-litre V8 that makes 450 HP at 7000rpm and 480Nm of torque at 4,750rpm at 8C Competizione. This should give it a 0-100km time of about 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 290 km\h. Sporty as they come, 8C Spider makes use of a 6-speed self-shifter that can be operated via the fingers behind the steering wheel. Specially developed 20-inch tyres ensure grip at most times in conjunction with the VDC traction control system.Housed inside the 20-inch alloys are huge 380mm Brembo ceramic disc brakes on the front and 360mm on the rear.

Although we don’t exactly think of a viper when John Hennessey and Neiman Marcus are in the same pot, the Venom 700NM is a more then your usually high performance super car. Declared a world class power car by Hennessey the 700NM is figuratively head of its class with the Dodge Viper SRT-10 engine that offers 700 bhp/522kW 6,200 rpm and 645 lb-ft torque 5,200 rpm witch offers an outstanding 3.3 sec from 0 to 60 mph and 7.0 sec to 100 mph, with a top speed of 214 mph.

On the outside it looks like a normal viper with a few exceptions like the VenomAero Exterior Aerodynamic Upgrades Kit a new lightweight alloy wheel upgrade with19x10 inch wheels in front, 20×13 inches in the rear and a 200 mph tested rear wing. Inside the jet viper has black and red leather appointments, a limited edition dash plaque, embroidered floor mats and matching luggage.

Mercedes is planning a new flagship sports car in the shape of a stunning 21st-century Gullwing. It will be placed somwhere between the SL roadster and the Mercedes McLaren SLR supercar and it is believed to become one of the most desirable performance machines on the planet. The 2010 Gullwing will be developed by Mercedes’ sporting arm, AMG and although it is still in its early stages, one element of the design is paramount - the doors. Bringing back memories of the 1954 300 SL, Mercedes will cash in on its heritage, in the same way as Ford has with its GT, BMW with the MINI, and Fiat will with the 500. To go with its hi-tech structure, the Gullwing will need a powerful engine for earth-shattering performance. So the Gullwing it is believed to be powered by a bi-turbo V8 unit is the hot tip, with power outputs possibly reaching a staggering 750bhp. The car will also feature a seven-speed automatic offering manual controls through paddleshifters moun­ted on the steering wheel. If you're been unimpressed by the Audi A1 so far, ABT has tuned the subcompact and matched that extra power with three bold designs. "Cool, trendy, and extravagant all good things come in threes," reads an ABT release. That's because ABT's A1s come in Klecks, High-Voltage, and Aloha designs with 17- or 18-inch ABT Z Titan wheels. First, though, the dynamic improvements. ABT adds a double-pipe sports rear muffler and new springs. Then the tuner gets to work on the engines. The basic 1.2-liter 86-horsepower engine is upgraded to 115 horsepower. The larger 122-horsepower 1.4-liter engine sees power increased to 150 horsepower. Both versions of the 1.6-liter diesel get 20 horsepower bumps. Klecks, literally, means "splash," which explains the white paint accents on the bright red A1 pictured at left. ABT calls the High-Voltage design its "most toxic," and, like the other two, this A1 gets a full body kit, spoiler, special mirror covers, and matching floor mats. The last A1 is the Aloha, which features lavender-colored side skirts. Except for the accented side vents, ABT's visual customization seems more tasteful than many tuners' attempts at improving existing production cars.
